This concert showcased three different violinists and their ensembles: Mimi Rabson (jazz-rock), Tara Bangalore (Carnatic classical music) and Beth Bahia Cohen (middle-Eastern and European perspectives). This event happened on Friday, April 22, at Emmanuel Church. We sold out the hall and raised $1170 for 350.org.
Here’s Mimi Rabson’s wonderful group with Nick Grondin on Guitar, Dave Clark on bass and Ricardo Monzon on Drums. “Playing For The Planet: World Violins Against Climate Change,” April 22, 2011, Boston, MA., playing her composition, “Marking Time.”
Benefit concerts are an excellent way to help spread awareness about an issue while giving people a good time.
